Embracing diversity and Inclusivity

There is so much to celebrate right here in Northumberland County. Diversity is one thing that we all have in common — both globally and locally. Recognizing and appreciating each other’s differences makes for an inclusive environment, paving the way for creative thinking and positive impact on our communities. We can be both diverse and united at the same time.We proudly welcome everyone here in Northumberland County regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, age, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education and political perspective. This inclusivity makes our county a culturally rich and dynamic place in which to live.

Embracing diversity and inclusivity is an ongoing conversation and opportunity for education. Recently, the four Chambers of Commerce hosted workshops amongst the business community to share leading practices.  Support for training and educating employees was top of mind, you may find these resources handy tools for starting or continuing the conversation.
